WINNIPEG -- Quarterback Michael Bishop is hoping to give Winnipeg Blue Bombers fans an offence they've never seen before.
That would be one that plays a full game all out when the 2-4 squad hosts the CFL-leading 5-1 Montreal Alouettes on Saturday night.
"Each one of us is going to have a chance to make plays and we want to play a complete game," Bishop said Friday.
After Bishop joined the Bombers July 27 to replace Stefan LeFors, he led his new team to a 13-12 win over Toronto that featured a strong first half and a weak second half that relied on its stingy defence.
Last week against Calgary, the Bishop-led offence was down 23-3 to Calgary after the first half. It exploded in the second, but not enough to stop a 31-23 Stampeders' victory.
"It's in the back of our minds that last week we played a great second half," Bishop said.
"We come and put those two together, the sky's the limit for us as far as us being productive on offence."
Montreal head coach Marc Trestman expects the Bombers' offence may continue where it left off against Calgary.
"Last week in the second half was really evident of what kind of offence they can be," Trestman said.
"They've got a quarterback who can run and has a terrific arm. I think the offence that they're using plays to his strengths. They've got more than one very, very good running back . . . and they've got great receivers."
Bomber running back Fred Reid rushed for 167 yards against Calgary, 150 of those in the second half, and had a pair of touchdowns. Rookie Yvenson Bernard had six carries for 54 yards.
While Reid leads the league in rushing with 486 yards, he's only one yard ahead of Montreal's Avon Cobourne.
Earlier in the week, Reid produced extra motivation for the Als' defence when he said its defensive line was pretty good and its linebackers OK.
That was an understatement.

The Alouettes' defence tops the league in allowing the fewest first downs (107), fewest rushing yards per game (56.5) and the fewest yards total offence (1,742). They also have a league-high 20 QB sacks.
Reid wasn't apologizing for his comments, saying he's just confident before every game.
"I think I can go out and do what I did the second half against Calgary every week," he said.
"That's just how I feel about things. And that's the way my attitude is. Being confident like that, I think we can get a lot of things done."
One thing he wants to do is stay ahead of Cobourne in the rushing battle.
"Most definitely I want to be on top after the game and I'm going to work hard to stay on top," Reid said. "But other than that, man, I'll be happy with a (win)."
Montreal's offence is led by top-ranked QB Anthony Calvillo, who's completed 76.6 per cent of his passes and has seven TDs and only two interceptions.
Winnipeg's defence will try to add to their league-leading 14 interceptions, but it won't be easy to snag one from Calvillo.
"He's one of the tougher quarterbacks to get interceptions on," said Bombers safety Ian Logan, who has three picks this season.
"He's really smart. He almost knows before the snap where he's throwing. We're going to have our work cut out for us, but we're ready."
Calvillo said all the league's defensive fronts are better this year, but Winnipeg's group has veterans who are making a difference.
"It all starts with them," said Calvillo. "They mix it up man and zone, but when those front four can get to you and they can drop everybody else, it's going to cause some problems.
"But that's kind of been the scenario all year long for our offensive line. They know they have a major task and it's going to be up to them to handle it."
Bombers head coach Mike Kelly said the game will be a measuring stick for his team's progress.
"We understand against a team like Montreal we have to play 60 minutes of football, we can't afford to play 30 minutes," said Kelly.
"That would be progress for me, for us to put together a consistent offensive game for the entirety of it and give our defence an opportunity to rest a little bit because we've really put a stress test on them this year."
