Twins bring up RHP Jeff Manship

MINNEAPOLIS(AP) -- Right-hander Jeff Manship has been promoted
from the minors to bolster the Minnesota Twins' pitching staff.

Manship replaces left-hander Glen Perkins, who went on the
15-day disabled list Tuesday with a shoulder strain. Manship was
expected to be available for Wednesday night's game against
Kansas City.

Manship was 4-2 with a 3.22 ERA in eight starts at Triple-A
Rochester. He struck out 30 and walked 17. Manship started the
season in Double-A, going 6-4 with a 4.28 ERA in 13 starts.

The 24-year-old Manship was a 14th-round pick by the Twins in
2006 out of Notre Dame.

Perkins (6-7) lost his job in the starting rotation when the
Twins picked up Carl Pavano.
